Justice for Liella (Bluegrass Bravery #8) by Deanndra Hall
ABOUT THE BOOK
All he hears is the crackling of flames. All he wants to hear is her voice.
With her PTSD treatment finished, Liella Fox needs a livelihood. Most of her family criticizes the unconventional career she embarks upon, and she vows to go it alone until she gets an offer of help from out of the blue.
Firefighter Breckin McDermott wants to get to know Liella. What better way than to help with her business plan at her brother Landon’s suggestion?
Liella’s terrified to be alone with a man, but after hearing Breckin’s story from his mother, her fears melt and her heart opens. She soon realizes he belongs in the life she’s forging.
But unknown to the ginger firefighter, Liella’s entrance into the market infuriates a competitor, one who’s mad at the world and finally has someone to focus his hatred on. And he does hate her—enough to end her career.
Maybe even her life.
MY REVIEW
I really enjoyed Deanndra Hall’s Shelter for Martina and Justice for Daesha, and so when the opportunity arose to read book 8 in the Bluegrass Bravery series, I jumped at it.
Liella is ready to move on with her life after a horrific event in her past that left her with PTSD and extreme anxiety issues. Her strength and fortitude to become a farrier are commendable considering her parents and brother Brandon refused to acknowledge what happened to her years ago. It’s her brother Landon and his wife Jerrica who are Liella’s saviors along with Landon’s friend and fellow firefighter Breckin “Red” McDermott.
Breckin is one hot, smart, and kind alpha male. His patience and love for Liella are exactly what she needs to boost her confidence and become whole again. Breckin has his own painful past that concerns his strong and caring mother, Iris, who is a natural sounding board for Liella.
My favorite scene is Breckin meeting Liella’s family and sticking up for her with loyalty and integrity. A momentous and defining event in Liella’s relationship with her family.
There are some big obstacles to overcome in this lovely story including a threat to Liella’s life, but Liella and Breckin face them together with love, trust, and respect. If you enjoy romantic suspense with a HEA ending, give this one a try.
Thank you to Ms. Hall for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Deanndra Hall is a working author living in the far western end of the beautiful Bluegrass State with her husband of over 35 years and small menagerie of weird little dogs. When she’s not writing, she’s editing. When she’s doing neither of those two things, she’s having dinner with friends, spending time with family, kayaking, eating chocolate, drinking beer or moonshine, or looking for something that she put in the wrong place and can’t seem to find (which is pretty much everything she owns).
