Finding Home Ever After (Finding Happiness in Harmony #2) by Stacey Komosinski

ABOUT THE BOOK

Gabriella Rodriguez left her small hometown for college eight years ago, excited for life in the city. Now, the shine of the city has worn off, and she no longer craves its fast pace, which made the decision to move home when her mom became ill an easy one. On the outside, it looked like Gaby only came home to help. She’s about to find that moving back to the small town of Harmony, Texas, might help her.

Bradley Klein has loved only one girl since he was two. No matter how many girls he dated or women he slept with over the years, not one has measured up to his childhood friend. Her long hair, blue eyes, and bright smile captivate him. When his bad boy lifestyle grew old, he landed back home in Harmony, working with his dad and opening his own business.

Now that Gaby is living in Harmony, will she give Brad the chance he has been waiting for and find that home can offer the inner happiness she’s seeking?

MY REVIEW

The second book in the Finding Happiness in Harmony series is Gaby and Brad’s story.

Gabriella Rodriguez has lost her way. She is in a constant pain of worry for her mother who is fighting cancer and Gaby is wasting her degree as a nutritionist by working in the local grocery store as a cashier.  However, with some good advice from Pastor Mark, things are looking up. She’s started giving dancing instructions out of the church fellowship hall that leads to a lucrative choreography gig for an upcoming girl’s band and she’s created a business plan for making and selling healthy meals out of the grocery store where she works. As for her longtime family friend, Brad, the attraction is there, but she doesn’t have the best track record with men considering her last boyfriend was arrested for stalking her.

Bradley Klein is a reformed bad boy who has been in love with Gaby most of his life. Now that she has moved back to Harmony he wants to prove that he is no longer the jerk who treated her badly in school. So he professes his love early on and waits patiently for her to give him a chance. Did he play his cards too early?

Unfortunately, Gaby and Brad’s story was pretty slow getting out of the gate and it just didn’t captivate me like the first book with Chloe and Chris. The part I liked best was when Gaby finally started to get her groove back with her dancing and nutritionist ideas for healthy meals in the community. Brad is a very patient man and I like that he lets Gaby set the pace of their relationship. In fact, Gaby turns out to be surprisingly sensual and sexy as she slowly seduces Brad.

Of course, the series is about three close friends, Gaby, Chloe, and Jess, as they keep in touch with their changing lives. Chloe and Chris from the first book, Finding It All, are moving in together, and Jess is dealing with serious family issues that make her reconsider her move to the West Coast.

If you like slow-paced, friends-to-lovers tropes with pleasant and realistic characters, please give this book a try.

Thank you to Ms. Komosinski for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
