MY REVIEW

Thorncrest, Vermont is not your typical small town. It’s filled with murder, sex, revenge, and a terrible secret that surprised this seasoned murder mystery reader.

Sylvia Stone is reliving her mother’s brutal murder that happened 20 years ago. Someone is leaving Sylvia threatening letters with a clue that changes everything. And if that isn’t enough, the man accused and imprisoned for her mother’s death is set free a few days later and shows up at her doorstep. Is he innocent? Who is sending the letters?

Sylvia’s past is filled with sadness and heartache and she hasn’t recovered completely. She is an odd duck who is unemployed, introverted, and makes questionable choices. One of them is her obsession with Rhett Cohen, the man accused of her mother’s murder. Another is her insistence on helping Rhett catch the real killer. What secrets will they uncover?

For the last 20 years, Rhett Cohen has dreamed of revenge on the person who set him up. As he manipulates Sylvia into helping him uncover clues, the plot thickens as the list of suspects grows. There are some nasty people in this small town and many twists and turns that kept me guessing.

The tension slowly builds in this mystery thriller to a very shocking ending. Pick up this book. It will hook you from the first page.
