ABOUT THE BOOK
Eve has just graduated from high school, but she doesn’t know what’s next aside from working at the local motel, spying on Kyle, her neighbor, and stealing apples from his orchard. If she doesn’t figure things out soon, she’ll be stuck at home and treated like a child forever.
Kyle is a single dad and the new football coach who needs a babysitter for his adorable son. When he meets Eve, there’s an instant connection because she reminds him of someone—himself. But Eve is the preacher’s daughter, off-limits, and Kyle has already had his heart trampled by his ex.
After earning his son’s affection with her homemade apple sauce and youthful spirit, Eve asks Kyle to teach her things like driving his fishing boat and shooting his hunting bow. Despite his better judgment, he agrees, but swears Eve to secrecy so no one gets the wrong idea about them.
Their playful banter and innocent flirting crosses a line, and Kyle misses the heartbreaking secret Eve’s hidden in plain sight.
When tragedy strikes, can they find their way back to each other?
The Apple Tree is a standalone in the Sunday Morning series by USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Jewel E. Ann.

MY REVIEW
I finished the second book in Ms. Ann’s incredible Sunday Morning series, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride! I was convinced she couldn’t top the first installment, but boy, was I wrong! This latest tale centers on Eve, a rebellious preacher’s daughter, and her intense connection with the new, sexy single dad and next-door neighbor, Kyle. Trust me, these two are a force to be reckoned with.
From the very first page, I was spellbound. This love story went above and beyond my expectations. It surprised me at every turn, leaving me feeling thrilled and captivated. I went through a rollercoaster of emotions. I swooned, I cried, and I laughed. Seriously, this book took me on an unforgettable journey that I won’t soon forget.
One of the best things about Eve and Kyle’s relationship is that it feels so beautifully intense, yet laced with an air of forbidden feelings. But are they really forbidden? The thrilling conflict of their situation gave me consistent butterflies. It’s not forbidden in the legal sense; their connection is absolutely consensual, but the waiting and the wanting, knowing they could never fully indulge in what they desire, is intoxicating.
Eve is such a vibrant character, full of life and possessing a wonderfully dry sense of humor that I just adored. It was refreshing and so relatable! And then there’s Kyle—oh man, he totally gets her. He knows what it means to be rebellious, but now he has a five-year-old son to think about. Talk about complicated! It’s clear that Eve is a whirlwind of trouble, but isn’t that what makes every great love story so irresistible?
As for favorite supporting characters, Eve’s Grandma Bonnie is a character I didn’t know I needed in my life. She’s one of those grandmas who knows how to stir up trouble but has the biggest heart. Then there’s Kyle’s adorable son, Josh, who steals the show with his honest innocence and unconditional love for Eve.
If you haven’t picked up this book yet, you really need to! Seriously, Ms. Ann has done it again, bringing us a rich, sincere, engaging story that leaves you happy and satisfied. Read this book. I promise you’ll be hooked right from the first chapter!
Thank you to Ms. Ann for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
