MY REVIEW

I absolutely love returning to Moonlit Ridge with each new book in this series. Beyond the Blue Horizon is a fantastic addition that brings back characters I’ve come to cherish. This time, the focus is on Theo and Piper, both of whom harbor heavy secrets and are seeking peace in their lives.

The story begins during a snowstorm when Theo meets Piper and her family. He has that rugged, “trouble” vibe, but he completely changes their world by taking them in for the night. Piper isn’t your typical damsel in distress; she’s tough and has her guard up, which makes it hard for her to trust him. With Theo’s brooding looks and mysterious past, she is understandably cautious.

I admired Piper’s strength and determination to prioritize her son and grandmother, even as she grappled with her own tragic past. She fights so hard against her attraction to Theo, but witnessing her realization that she deserves happiness and love was genuinely beautiful. Theo is just as complex. His guilt from the past eats at him as he vows to protect those who cannot do it themselves. By the end of the book, it’s clear that he has built walls around love, but it’s amazing to see him open up once he allows himself to feel. He is fierce and protective, yet also fiercely loyal, unwilling to back down when it comes to fighting for what he believes in. He’s a goner from the moment he locks eyes with Piper. However, it’s his precious relationship with little Finn that made my heart melt.

The chemistry between Theo and Piper is electric! Their banter is sassy and filled with potential, and the tension is palpable. I couldn’t help but root for them with every page I turned.

The mix of unease and romance had my heart racing. When Piper realizes the true nature of Theo’s duties, it is a profoundly moving moment that brought tears to my eyes as I watched them navigate their emotions. Two-year-old Finn adds so much joy to the story with his first Christmas celebration, while Grandma Nelly provides humor that balances the more serious moments. Additionally, the band of brothers and sisters brings the warmth and kindness Piper needs to feel like she truly belongs.

This romantic suspense deeply resonated with me. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend it! Each book is engaging and filled with twists and turns. While I can’t wait for Cash’s story, I know it will be difficult to say goodbye to Moonlit Ridge and its unforgettable characters.
